U15's Clock Face vs Oldham St Annes

Clock Face 26 - 10 Oldham St Annes

Clock got back to winning ways on Sunday with an 'ugly' 26 - 10 win against Oldham.

The game started brightly enough with Cuttsy scoring for Clock under the sticks several minutes into the first half.  However, the game decended into a terrible stop start affair as a result of the excessive number of penalties.  The game started to resemble a game of rugby union with the constant peep of the referees whistle.  Both teams were on the receiving end.

Clock made several breaks but, were pulled back for forward passes. Eventually, Clock scored again from a slick handling move out wide with Brackers drawing the defence and passing to Hatto who went in at the corner giving Clock a 10-0 lead. However, shortly after Oldham went for 2 points from one of the many penalties in the game and duly converted.
Clock received a penalty when Oldham were caught offside however, the ball failed to find touch and went dead in goal. The rules state this should be a 20 metre drop out but, not according to the ref who gave a 20 metre tap to Oldham. From the resulting play the winger raced 80 metres to score close to the sticks.
On the stroke of half time Oldham went for 2 points as a result from a Clock infringement and converted to level the scores 10-10 at half time.

The second half was no better than the first and Clock struggled to get their hands on the ball. With penalties and poor handling gifting Oldham long spells of possesion. Frantic and tough defence prevented Oldham from taking the lead. Eventually, 10 minutes into the second half Clock got the ball and passed the ball swiftly out wide to Haughton who crossed the line but, raced to the sticks to score under the posts. With an easy conversion Clock had retained the lead 16-10.

The balance of posession started to even out and Ozzy scored for Clock out wide. In the dying seconds of the game an angled run off a Gezza pass saw Hatto score under the sticks. Ben duly converted to give Clock a 26 - 10 win.

Next week Manchester Storm away.
